Melanie H. Cobb is internationally recognized for her work on cellular regulatory mechanisms, for which she was elected to the prestigious National Academy of Sciences of the United States. Along with being a Professor, she serves as Dean of the Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Over the course of her career, she has also served on the advisory boards of several companies, including Pfizer, Celgene, Schering Plough, Roche and Promega.
