Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Jurre Siegers, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Institut Pasteur, focusing on emerging viruses at the human-animal interface since October 2020. Prior experience includes a tenure as a PhD Candidate at Erasmus MC (January 2015 - October 2020), investigating the neurotropic potential of influenza A viruses. Additional roles encompass a Visiting Researcher at The University of Queensland, involvement in Ebola virus diagnostics with Partners In Health in Sierra Leone, and research assistant positions at Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and Erasmus MC, where virus discovery and innate immune cell function were studied. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Virology and an MS in Infection & Immunity from Erasmus University Rotterdam, alongside a BASc in Biotechnology and Wildlife Management from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences.
