Marcus Torres

Marcus Torres is an accomplished researcher and data scientist currently serving as a researcher at the Instituto de Pesquisa Econômica Aplicada (Ipea) since April 2024 and pursuing a PhD in Political Science at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco since March 2015. With extensive experience in social sciences and public policy evaluation, Marcus has a strong track record of producing academic reports, managing data analysis projects, and presenting findings both nationally and internationally. Previous roles include co-founding and consulting at Analytique Consultoria, working as a data scientist at Fundação José Luiz Egydio Setúbal, and participating in various educational roles. Marcus holds advanced degrees in Political Science from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and has furthered education through visiting research programs at prestigious institutions such as the University of Oxford and Sciences Po.
