Amy Olsen-Highness has been in the workforce since 2004. Her first job was as a Bilingual Shelter Advocate at the Family Violence Center (Children & Families of IA) from 2004 to 2006. Amy then moved to the Northwest Area Foundation, where they worked as a Program Associate from 2006 to 2008. After that, they worked as a Community Education Coordinator at Alexandra House from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 to 2016, they were the Metro Regional Manager/Evaluation Specialist at Hearth Connection. Finally, from 2016 to 2017, they were a Senior Planning Analyst, Coordinated Entry at Hennepin County, and then they became the HMIS Manager, System Administration at Institute for Community Alliances.
Amy Olsen-Highness began their educational journey in 1999 when they attended Valparaiso University and completed their Bachelor of Arts in International Economics & Cultural Affairs and Spanish in 2003. Amy then attended the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where they earned their Master of Public Policy in Social Policy in 2011.
