Chioke Ianson

Chioke Ianson serves as the Director of Community Media at the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University since September 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and leading the media center from concept to realization with significant fundraising achievements of over $750,000. Since November 2016, Chioke Ianson has also contributed to NPR as the Voice of Underwriting for Podcasts and Digital Downloads, recording and editing ad spots for NPR newscasts and podcasts. Chioke Ianson's academic experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in both the Robertson School of Media and Culture and the African American Studies department, in addition to teaching various philosophy courses at multiple institutions from 2004 to 2014. Chioke Ianson holds a PhD and MA in Philosophy from the University of South Florida, along with a BS in Philosophy and Religion from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
