Daniel Y. Chiu

Daniel Y. Chiu is a prominent expert in defense strategy and international relations, currently serving as the Director of the Joint Advanced Warfighting Division at the Institute for Defense Analyses since 2017. Chiu has held significant roles, including Director of Strategy and Deputy Director at the Atlantic Council, and various positions within the United States Department of Defense, where responsibilities included developing national defense strategy and overseeing strategic analysis. Chiu has also contributed as an adjunct professor at The Johns Hopkins University and George Mason University, teaching courses on national security and public policy research. Chiu holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University and has an extensive educational background that includes degrees from Johns Hopkins SAIS, McGill University, and Marianopolis College.
