Erin M. Sullivan

Erin M. Sullivan, Ph.D., currently serves as a Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses since September 2024. Prior to this role, Erin held positions as a Research Scientist at CNA Corporation from August 2015 to September 2024, focusing on education and training games, wargaming, and special operations. Erin's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science & Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where research centered around biodegradable polymer nanocomposite films. Additional experience includes graduate research at Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute and Florida State University High Performance Materials Institute, as well as an undergraduate position at the University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials. Erin has also attained various certificates in child protection, design thinking, and women in leadership.
