Arve Holt

Arve Holt is a seasoned research professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Research Director of the Energy and Environmental Technology sector at the Institute for Energy Technology since January 2000. Focused on renewable energy solutions, Holt emphasizes the development of technologies for wind and solar energy, high purity silicon production, and CO2 capture and storage. Previously, Holt held roles such as Department Head for solar energy and Section Head for Renewable Energy at IFE, where significant advancements in solar cell technology were achieved. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoc at the University of Oslo, conducting research on ceramic oxygen permeable membranes and corrosion testing. Holt also founded Crystal Structure Design AS, developing the CrystalDesigner tool for crystallography. Educational credentials include a PhD in Chemistry with a specialization in Material Science from the University of Oslo.
