Michael N. Louka has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and organizations. Michael N. started their career as a Software Engineer at the Institute for Energy Technology in 1994. Michael N. then held various leadership roles within the organization, including Deputy Department Head and Section Head of the Human-Centred Technologies section. Michael N. also served as the Department Head for the Virtual and Augmented Reality Department and acted as the Department Head for the Applied Nuclear Sciences department for a period of time. Additionally, they were a Principal Researcher for the OECD Halden Reactor Project and the OECD NEA Halden Human-Technology Organisation Project. In 2018, they became a Founding Governing Board Member of Open AR Cloud. Michael N. also worked as an Associate Lecturer at Østfold University College, teaching courses on virtual world design and development, mark-up languages, and hypertext.
Michael N. Louka completed their undergraduate education from 1990 to 1994 at the University of Surrey, majoring in Computing and Information Technology. In 1992, they also spent a year as an exchange student at Østfold University College (HiØ). Prior to their higher education, Michael attended Lawrence Sheriff School. Additionally, they obtained a certification in the IFE R&D Leadership Program from Handelshøyskolen BI in June 2023.
