Vicky Bowman is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in human rights, external affairs, and international relations. Currently serving as Independent Chair of the Global Network Initiative and Senior Adviser at the Institute for Human Rights and Business, Vicky plays a pivotal role in humanitarian efforts related to commodities and mining. As Director of the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business since 2013, Vicky has facilitated important dialogues on responsible business practices. Previous roles include Global Practice Leader for External Affairs at Rio Tinto and Director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where Vicky oversaw significant economic issues and served as the British Ambassador in Rangoon. Vicky's educational background includes degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Chicago, along with an honorary doctorate from the University of Bradford.
