Philip Reiner

Philip Reiner has a diverse background in security and technology. Philip currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Institute for Security and Technology (IST), where they also hold a position on the Board of Directors. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director of IST and held the role of Chief Executive Officer at the AI Security Initiative, an organization focused on the security impacts of artificial intelligence.

Reiner has also worked as an independent consultant, providing advisory services in various capacities. Philip has been involved in organizations such as Duco and AETOS Strategy & Advisory, where they served as the Director of Advisory, North America.

In terms of government experience, Reiner has worked in the National Security Council as the Senior Director for South Asia, Senior Advisor for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and Director for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Philip has been responsible for developing and implementing national security policies for these regions.

Additionally, Reiner has been affiliated with the Center for International Security and Cooperation as an Affiliate and the Center for a New American Security as an Adjunct Senior Fellow.

Recently, they joined the Export-Import Bank of the United States as a member of the EXIM Chair's Council on China Competition, where they provide guidance on advancing the comparative leadership of the United States with respect to China.

Philip Reiner holds a Masters in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Philip obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religious Studies and History from UC Santa Barbara.
