Rebecca Kaduru currently serves as the President of the Institute for Sustainable Communities, focusing on enhancing resilience to climate change in communities globally. Previously, Rebecca held key leadership roles including Chief Strategy and Impact Officer at UpStart, Managing Director for North America at Solidaridad Network, and Co-Founder and Managing Director at KadAfrica. Additional experience includes consulting with Equalize Health in East Africa and serving as Head of Public Affairs and Nonprofit at Ipsos. Rebecca's early career included analytical and legislative support roles, reflecting a strong foundation in political science, with degrees from the University of the Pacific, Santa Clara University, and The American University in Cairo.

The Institute for Sustainable Communities facilitates transformative community-driven climate change mitigation projects in the United States, India, China, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia that address systemic inequalities, extractive capitalism, and the persistent international reliance on fossil fuels which benefit the few at a grave cost to marginalized population groups, workers, public health, and our environment. We address the root causes of climate change impacts by building community knowledge and skills, strengthening governance, and diversifying the field of sustainability professionals. Our approach incorporates capacity building, technical assistance delivery, knowledge products, climate change action planning, and peer learning.
