Rongyu Zhang

Graduate Student Researcher at Institute for Systems Biology (ISB)

Rongyu Zhang is a dedicated researcher with extensive experience in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Currently serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Institute for Systems Biology-Heath Lab since April 2019, Rongyu Zhang has conducted significant studies on single-cell RNA-sequencing of T cells, analyzed gene expression related to anti-tumor T cell phenotypes, and investigated immune responses to SARS-CoV-2. Previously, at the University of California, Los Angeles-Seidlits Lab, Rongyu Zhang designed and executed a two and a half-year project focusing on drug resistance in glioblastoma cancer cells within a 3D hydrogels environment. Education includes a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Washington and a BS in Bioengineering from UCLA. Additional leadership experience includes involvement in mentorship programs and social organization roles.
