Sara Jane Ahmed

Sara Ahmed is the founder of the Financial Futures Center and an advisor to the Vulnerable 20 Group of Finance Ministers (V20) of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF). The Financial Futures Center supports developing countries catalyzing an economic transformation to launch a decade of progress with five years of fast-tracked action aimed at ultimately achieving climate prosperity by 2030.

Sara also serves on the Task Force on Climate, Development, and the International Monetary Fund, a group working to advance development-centered climate policy at the IMF, and is a member of the board of advisors to the Global Renewables Congress and Climate Smart Ventures. She previously worked at IEEFA as an energy finance analyst.

Sara is the first Filipino and Bangladeshi to receive the Climate Breakthrough Project of the Year award and has been credited with supporting the efforts of the government in sanctioning a moratorium on new coal-fired power in the Philippines.

Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Knox College and a Master of Science in finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School. She attended the General Management program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
