Trey Sanders

Past President, Cascadia Section at Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)

Trey Sanders has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Trey began their career as a Shift Leader at Keba Spitfire Grill and later worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia. Trey also completed a Dietetic Internship at the University of Georgia Graduate School, where they gained experience in different areas of nutrition. Trey then worked as a Food Scientist at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, where they led sensory, nutrition, and shelf life programs. Trey also served as a Clinical Registered Dietitian at San Joaquin Community Hospital/Adventist Health, providing nutrition care to diverse patients. Trey then took on roles at Continental Mills and Bulletproof 360, where they focused on research and development, budgeting, and driving product development activities. Additionally, Trey demonstrated leadership skills as the President of the Cascadia Section and Chair of the Social Media & Newsletter Committee at the Institute of Food Technologists. Trey is currently the Head of Product Development at UCAN.

Trey Sanders has a Master of Science degree in Food Science & Nutrition from The University of Georgia, which they earned from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Foods & Dietetics from the same university from 2005 to 2009. In 2019-2020, they obtained a Certificate in Business Administration and Management from the University of Washington. Additionally, Trey has certifications as a Certified Food Scientist from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in November 2016 and as a Registered Dietitian from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in May 2011. Trey also completed the "Finance for Non-Financial Managers" course at LinkedIn, although the obtained month is unspecified, in 2022.
