Álvaro Castro-Castilla

Álvaro Castro-Castilla is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in blockchain infrastructure and software development. Currently serving as Project Lead and Architect at the Institute of Free Technology, Álvaro leads a team focused on creating an advanced decentralized blockchain for Network States. Previous roles include mentoring blockchain startups at Tehnopol, conducting research as an Entrepreneur In Residence at Delphi Digital, and leading blockchain infrastructure development at Status. Álvaro has co-founded companies, such as OFF-THE-GRID Inc, where a Secure Multi-Party Computation platform was architected, and has held senior technical positions, including Senior Distributed Systems Engineer at Toptal and Senior Backend Developer at Brave New Software Project, Inc. Academically, Álvaro holds a Master's degree in Architecture from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has experience as an adjunct professor and director of academic innovation.
