Genevieve Coffey

Paleoseismologist at GNS Science

Genevieve Coffey is an experienced earthquake geologist currently working at GNS Science since February 2021. Prior to this role, Genevieve served as a PhD candidate at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory from August 2015 to December 2020, and was a Fulbright Scholar with Fulbright New Zealand from August 2015 to August 2016, participating in a year-long fellowship for graduate study. Genevieve also contributed as a teaching assistant at the University of Otago from February 2013 to February 2015, supporting various undergraduate courses in Earth sciences. Genevieve holds a Master of Science in Geology obtained from Columbia University between 2015 and 2020, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Otago earned from 2009 to 2012.
