Luana Alves

Luana Alves is a skilled geochemist with extensive experience in analytical chemistry and laboratory management. Currently at GNS Science since August 2016, Luana monitors volcanic activity in New Zealand through the analysis of volcanic gas species, managing two laboratories and applying advanced analytical techniques. Previous roles include Product Specialist at Anton Paar, where Luana provided support for instrument installation and customer service, and Application Chemist at Bizaio Trade Measurement Instruments, focusing on instrument calibration and method development for high-profile clients. Additional experience includes environmental volunteering in Australia and a solid background in quality control from a tenure as a Chemical Analyst at Saint-Gobain. Luana holds a Master's degree from USP and is currently furthering education at Victoria University of Wellington.
