Susan Crumpton is an experienced professional in the field of sport and exercise medicine, currently serving as a Project Manager at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Medicine since April 2019, while also holding the position of Director at Vivendi Wellness since January 2015. Previously, Susan worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Medicine, Stellenbosch University, and as a Senior Consultant at LifeCheq. Susan has extensive experience in program management, particularly in overseeing a weight maintenance program at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, where responsibilities included budget management, strategic planning, and member motivation. Additionally, Susan has a background as a Registered Biokineticist, performing health assessments and prescribing exercise programs. Academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town and a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science (Biokinetics) from the University of Cape Town, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics from Rhodes University.

The Institute of Sport and Exercise Medicine (ISEM) is a division within the Department of Exercise, Sport and Lifestyle Medicine at Stellenbosch University. Our vision is to be a global leader in sport and exercise medicine in and for Africa, by optimising the well-being and performance of all patients/clients through the coordination of transdisciplinary research across faculties, as well as teaching and service provision in the field of sport and exercise medicine. ISEM offers several courses in sport and exercise medicine while conducting ground-breaking research and translating this knowledge back to the community and the medical field.
