Damien Whearty

Damien Whearty is an accomplished mechanical engineer with extensive experience in various engineering roles. Currently serving as the Head of Mechanical Discipline and Hardware Engineering Manager at Thales since September 2017, Damien also operates Whearty Engineering Ltd. As a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers since May 2014, Damien has previously held positions such as Engineering Manager and Centre of Excellence Leader for Completions at GE Oil & Gas, where contributions included leadership in Research and Development projects and a focus on safety-critical systems. Prior to this, Damien worked as a Product Design Engineer at HVAC & Refrigeration Engineering Ltd. and as a Product Development Engineer at Glen Dimplex. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in Product Design Engineering, as well as HND and HNC degrees in Mechanical Engineering, all from Dundalk Institute of Technology.
