Gabriel Guarnieri Silva

Gabriel Guarnieri Silva is a dedicated researcher currently serving as a Bolsista de Iniciação Científica at Instituto Biologico since December 2020. Responsibilities include the collection of biological materials, sample preparation, weighing, storage, RNA extraction, and preparing inocula for mechanical inoculation of the Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) in plants. The project aims to utilize leaf extracts from phytolaccaceae as an inhibitor of viral infection, with analyses of qRT-PCR employed to assess gene expression related to infection inhibition. Prior to this role, Gabriel worked as an Auxiliar de cozinha at PAULO GUTUL ME from January 2017 to December 2020. Gabriel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Centro Universitário FAM, completed in December 2021.
