Karina A.

Karina A. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the President/CEO at Instituto del Progreso Latino since October 2017. Prior to this, they held executive positions at Metropolitan Family Services from May 2011 to October 2017, including EVP & General Counsel and Executive Director of Legal Aid Society.

From September 2008 to May 2011, Karina worked at the City of Chicago, Department of Human Resources, holding positions such as First Deputy Commissioner, Acting Commissioner, and Managing Deputy Commissioner. Karina was also the General Counsel at the Hispanic National Bar Association from October 2007 to September 2008.

Karina also served as the Director of Community Services at the Chicago Bar Association from 2001 to 2008. Moreover, Karina was a Fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago in 2001-2002.

Karina A. obtained their Juris Doctor degree in Law from DePaul University College of Law between the years 1995 and 1998. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago from 1988 to 1991.
