Julio Sánchez Maríñez

Julio Sánchez Maríñez is the ninth Rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). He was sworn in on January 19, 2021 and his first term of office will last until 2023.

Sánchez Maríñez has a degree in Psychology, graduated from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), with specialty studies in Planning and Administration of Higher Education of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and Ph.D. in Organizational and Management Studies from the School of Business of the State University of New York at Albany.

He has extensive experience in educational management as a secondary school principal at Colegio Dominicano De La Salle; Executive Secretary of the National Council of Higher Education (CONES); and a teaching and research assistant to leading professors at the Schools of Business and Sociology at the State University of New York, Albany. Between 2013 and 2020 he served as Rector of the Salomé Ureña Higher Teacher Training Institute (ISFODOSU).
