Mary Riley Deer

Mary Riley Deer is a dedicated educational professional with extensive experience in secondary mathematics curriculum development and instruction. Currently serving as a Secondary Mathematics Curriculum Specialist at Instructure since January 2021, Mary previously held the same role at Certica Solutions and worked as a receptionist at Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC. With teaching experience at Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and Mountain Brook Schools, Mary has designed lesson plans that promote critical thinking and student growth while also contributing to professional development initiatives and leadership programs. Additionally, Mary possesses artistic skills shown through the role of Resident Artist at Camp Desoto, further showcasing a diverse skill set in both academia and creative arts. Mary holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from The University of Alabama.
