Sage Brown

Sage Brown is a Creative Director and Photographer based in Portland, Oregon, with over 15 years of experience in shaping digital experiences for notable brands such as Google, Patagonia, OpenAI, Dropbox, and Meta. Currently a Design Director at Instrument, Sage specializes in leading teams to craft human-centered design solutions, focusing on design systems and storytelling. As a freelance photographer, they explore themes of place, identity, and the human connection to nature, with works commissioned by Patagonia, High Country News, and Bloomberg Businessweek. Sage earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and has held various positions in design, including an early role at VCU Graphics Lab and as a Chief Creative at Chicago Portfolio School.
