Their founders recognized they could fulfill a critical need of their clients by forming Southern General Insurance Company. In 1979 this company was formed and began offering personal lines insurance products to independent retail agents through Insurance House. In 2005 Insurance House was proud to acquire the Managing General Agency and Wholesale Insurance Broker, Deering and Associates, located in Durham, North Carolina. Similar to Insurance House, Deering and Associates had a long history of service to the independent retail agent. In 2006 Insurance House acquired the Managing General Agency and Wholesale Insurance Broker, LE Harris Agency, in Maryland, further expanding our footprint into the Mid-Atlantic states.
