Gary Brodigan

Gary Brodigan has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Gary started their career in 2000 as an IT Instructor in the Brigade Training Centre, where they taught IT subjects such as ECDL- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Web Design. Gary then served in the Irish Defence Forces for 21 years, achieving the position of Personnel Manager. In this role, they managed 133 personnel and ensured they performed to high standards. Additionally, they taught Defence Force personnel in various computer skills. Gary also served as an Operations Sergeant with NATO, where they were responsible for operations and planning within a Multi National Task Force in Kosovo. Gary later served as a Logistics sergeant within an Infantry Company of the Irish Defence Forces, managing military-grade equipment and logistics. Afterward, they worked as a firefighter on a retained basis, responding to fires, accidents, and incidents. More recently, they worked for Vline Support, where they were involved in the Agile development process and resolving customer queries. Currently, they are working as a Scrum Master at Intact, facilitating the Nexus Scrum development team and actively collaborating with Product Owners and Stakeholders as an Agile Coach.

Gary Brodigan's education history begins in 2010 when they enrolled in The Open University and pursued a degree in BSc (Honours) Computing and IT (B62). Gary completed their studies in 2016, obtaining their degree in Information Technology. In 2014, Gary also pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership, Management, and Defence Studies (Logistics) at the Institute of Technology, Carlow. Gary completed this program in 2015.

In terms of certifications, Gary obtained a certificate in SQL through Systematix in 2017. Additionally, they have acquired several professional certifications, including Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2022, Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I) from Scrum.org in 2021, and Professional Scrum Master 1 from Scrum.org in 2019. Gary also obtained a BSc (Honours) Computing and IT certification from the Open University Students Association in 2010 and a BA in Leadership, Management, and Defence Studies (Logistics) from the Institute of Technology Carlow in 2014.
