Debra Platek

Debra Platek has over 12 years of experience in the medical device industry. Debra is currently a Senior Director of Device Design at Intarcia Therapeutics, Inc. since June 2016.

Prior to that, Debra worked as a Principal Consultant at various companies, including Boston Scientific Corporation and Nanostim, Incorporated. At Boston Scientific Corporation, they led and completed an integration project for an electrophysiology recording system into the global service organization. Debra also strategized and launched comprehensive worldwide services, initialized inventory and spare parts into the global supply system, and established a European vendor as the EU Regional Repair Center.

At Nanostim, Incorporated, Debra provided global program management services for multiple PMA-related verification/validation projects for an implantable electronic medical device. Debra coordinated schedules and deliverables among multiple Project Managers and ensured timely and successful PMA.

Before that, Debra served as a Senior Manager of R&D at Maquet Cardiovascular (previously Boston Scientific Corporation/Guidant Corporation) from 2004 to 2011.

Overall, Debra Platek has a strong background in device design, program/project management, and R&D in the medical device industry.

Debra Platek holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on the trans-global executive program emphasizing strategy and entrepreneurship for emerging economies from Saint Mary's College of California. Debra also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences from the University of Wisconsin.
