Marc Güell

Marc Güell has a diverse work experience in the fields of synthetic biology, microbiology, and genomics. Marc is currently serving as the Cofounder and Scientific Head at Integra Therapeutics, a position they have held since December 2020. Prior to this, they worked at eGenesisBio as a Founding Scientist and Director of Synthetic Biology starting from March 2020.

Marc also has experience in the skincare industry as the Cofounder and Chair of SAB at S-Biomedic since 2013. At S-Biomedic, they apply the concept of probiotics to skincare and designs products using microbiology and dermatology advances.

During their time at Harvard University, Marc served as a Wyss Technology Development Fellow from June 2015 to November 2016. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard Medical School from January 2011 to June 2015, focusing on synthetic biology and genome engineering.

Earlier in their career, Marc completed their postdoctoral research at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) from May 2010 to December 2010. Marc also worked as a PhD student at CRG, focusing on systems biology of microorganisms from June 2007 to April 2010. Marc started their PhD and research journey at PRBB (Barcelona Biomedical Research Park) and further expanded their expertise as a Visiting PhD student at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.

Marc began their research career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Institut Químic de Sarrià and Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas in 2005. Marc Güell began their education in 2000 at Universitat Ramon Llull, where they obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering with a field of study in Chemistry (IQS). Marc continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Degree in Organic Chemistry (IQS) in 2006.

In 2006, Marc Güell enrolled at Universitat Pompeu Fabra to pursue a Master's degree in Biomedical Research, which they completed in 2007. Marc furthered their studies at the same university and completed a Ph.D. in Biomedicine in 2010.

Additionally, Marc Güell pursued a Technical Engineering degree in Telecommunications at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya from 2007 to 2010.

Marc Güell expanded their knowledge in Web Technologies through a Professional Certificate program at Harvard University from 2012 to 2014. Furthermore, they completed a miniMBA program in Introduction to Business Administration at Harvard Business School in 2014.
