Eugene Roh

Algorithm Engineer at Integrated Biometrics

Eugene Roh has worked in a variety of roles since 2017. In 2020, they served as an R&D Deep Learning Engineer at Integrated Biometrics, where they developed a UNet-based neural network to restore contaminated or missing fingerprint data from images. Eugene also optimized the performance of the neural network and implemented it in a C++ application. In 2019, they were a Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University IPS Computer Laboratory, where they established a BLE connection between a beacon and multiple wearable watch sensors and programmed and debugged a switching sequence driven by interrupts. In 2018, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University Mental Health Laboratory, where they designed a feedback controller using MATLAB to relieve stress levels by adjusting musical components in real time. In 2017, they were a Member of The Buckeye Space Launch Initiative College Rocket Team, where they fabricated a circuit of 5V voltage regulator and created a 'control light emitter' by manufacturing an LED bracket. Eugene was awarded 1st place in the Student Research and Developed (SRAD) solid-fuel rocket at the world's largest competition.

Eugene Roh obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University between 2017 and 2019. In 2021, they obtained four certifications from Coursera: Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
