Ross Allen

Ross Allen was appointed as IDT General Counsel in May 2022. With a strong background in both science and law, Ross brings a unique perspective to the legal department. Ross also actively supports IDT's efforts towards diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE+I).

Ross began his career as a scientist, working at the bench and using IDT products. Eventually, he left the lab to pursue a legal career. Although Ross began as a litigator focused on biotechnology and medical device patent litigation, he eventually expanded his practice to include general legal advising. Ross has held various positions as regional counsel, including a four-year ex-pat assignment with Align Technology (Invisalign) in Singapore where he helped establish its footprint across Asia and South America.

Before joining IDT, Ross served as Assistant General Counsel for Cepheid for more than three years, leading global strategic transactions, North America commercial support, and legal operations through the OpCo’s exponential growth. Ross also served as Vice-Chair of Danaher’s LGBTQ + Friends associate resource group (ARG), offering his support to LGBTQ+ colleagues and helping to build allyship across Danaher.

Ross holds a BS in Microbiology/Chemistry and an MS in Molecular Pathology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He earned his JD from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
