Matthew Edgar has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Matthew is currently a Principal Engineer at Integrated Graphene, where they started in September 2022. Previously, they worked at M Squared, first as a Product Owner from October 2018 to September 2019, then as a Product Line Manager from October 2019 to September 2022. Prior to that, Matthew was employed at the University of Glasgow, first as a Graduate Demonstrator and Tutor from October 2007 to April 2011, then as a Research Assistant from October 2010 to March 2011. Matthew also held the position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant from April 2011 to July 2014, and later became a Postdoctoral Research Associate from August 2014 to October 2018. Additionally, Matthew worked as a Creator at Scientific Britain from December 2011 to December 2016 and as a Science Outreach Assistant at Milde Marketing from January 2009 to April 2011. Furthermore, they gained experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Glasgow in June 2005, where they redesigned the 1st year physics lab material. Matthew's background includes expertise in quantum optics, quantum encryption, quantum information processing, quantum computing, classical ghost imaging, hyper-spectral imaging, and creative thinking.

Matthew Edgar completed their education in a chronological manner. Matthew started their academic journey at Madras College from 1997 to 2003 but did not specify any degree or field of study. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Glasgow, graduating with a 2.1 classification between 2003 and 2007. Matthew then continued their education at the University of Glasgow, where they obtained a PhD in Physics from 2007 to 2011.
