Michael Tavares has over 23 years of work experience in software development and engineering. Michael started their career at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport in 1995 as a Programmer/Analyst and worked there for two years. From 1997 to 1998, they joined Logicon as a Programmer/Analyst, where they contributed to the design and development of simulator training software using C on UNIX platforms.

In 1998, they worked at Connekted as a Software Developer & Network Technician, where they developed and maintained websites in HTML for small businesses. Michael also designed and wrote custom Windows-based and Web-based applications using Delphi and provided network administration and support for Windows and Novell based networks.

In 2000, Michael joined HHM of Rhode Island as a Software Engineer, where they developed custom Windows-based applications for utilization review and claims processing in the mental health field. Michael utilized Visual Basic 6 and SQL Server database for this role and also provided support for networked systems including MS Exchange 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Server.

From 2001 to 2017, they worked at NetSoft, Inc. as a Senior Software Developer, responsible for developing custom Web-based and Windows-based applications for clients in various industries. Their responsibilities included business analysis, system design, project management, overseeing a development team, programming, testing, and deployment using .NET technologies.

Currently, they are working at Integrated IT since 2018 as a Software Engineer. In this role, they develop custom Web-based and Windows-based applications for clients in healthcare, government, law, manufacturing, education, and sports-related fields. Michael is involved in the full development life cycle including business analysis, system design, project management, programming, testing, and deployment using .NET technologies.

Michael Tavares pursued their undergraduate education from 1993 to 1997 at Roger Williams University. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science & Mathematics.
