Sami Kibria

Sami Kibria has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Sami is currently the Vice President of Engineering Product Development at Event, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to that, they were a Strategic Advisor at GridAcres, where they owned real-producing assets and received monthly returns on sales. In their previous role at Walmart, Sami served as a Senior Director of Supply Chain Product and Engineering from March 2021 to April 2022, and before that as a Director of Data & Analytics from October 2018 to March 2021. Sami also worked as the Director of Engineering - Machine Learning/IoT at Turvo Inc. from April 2017 to September 2018. Before that, Sami held the position of Kernel Engineer - Global Infrastructure at Apple from August 2015 to April 2017. Additionally, they served as the Canada - Transit Segment Leader at GE Transportation from October 2013 to January 2015 and as a Senior Solutions Architect at Red Hat from June 2011 to October 2013. Sami's earlier experience includes working as the Director of Advanced Engineering at iders from June 2008 to June 2011 and as an Engineering Manager at iders inc from May 2004 to June 2008.

Sami Kibria obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with a major in Computer Science, from the University of Manitoba. This education spanned from 1995 to 2000.
