Shay is a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine. A life-changing experience brought a profound insight — caring for the whole child in body, mind, heart, and spirit is of critical importance — and led to the founding of Integrative Touch to protect children from unnecessary suffering and address all aspects of the healing process.

As the founder and Executive Director of Integrative Touch (InTouch) and the driving force behind Integrative Touch’s Health-caring wellness model, Shay is a sought-after international speaker and educator. With a focus on the positive impact of blending compassionate care and evidence-based medicine, Shay regularly consults on research studies and publishes in the field of integrative medicine for medical journals, textbooks, and magazines. Shay is also the host of Conversations on Healing, Integrative Touch’s inspiring and thought-provoking podcast, which centers on health and healing in the modern world.

Shay received the Women’s Studies Achievement Award from UCLA and is recognized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as a Pioneer for Children’s Wellbeing. Most recently, she was recognized by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona as the 2020 recipient of the Civic Leadership Award, which honors individuals who are working to make Southern Arizona a more inclusive and welcoming place. Shay holds a master’s degree in public health from UCLA.
