Riaan Theron

Riaan Theron has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Riaan currently works at IntelexVision, where they hold the role of Training, Certification & Licencing Manager since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Technical Solutions Architect from October 2021 and as a Technical Consultant from May 2020.

Before joining IntelexVision, Riaan worked at ISDS South Africa, where they held multiple roles. From March 2019 to May 2020, they worked as a Pre-Sales Engineer/Technical Consultant, managing a technical support team for various products in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to this, they served as a Technical Support Manager from May 2017 to May 2020. In this role, they supported and managed the Technical Support team for a Real-Time Video Analytics software product called iSentry.

Riaan also has prior experience working at Benchmark as part of the IT and Operations team, where they supported the company's IT operations and provided desktop support. Riaan was with Benchmark from January 2015 to February 2017.

In 2013, Riaan founded Rising Penguin, where they provided IT support and sales services for home and small to medium-sized business users. Riaan also conducted smartphone OS systems training for beginners to advanced level users.

Prior to Rising Penguin, Riaan worked at Integr8 Group as part of the Information and Processes team in the Project Office. Riaan gained exposure to clients through the company's Nerve Centre and contributed to projects through change management. Riaan was with Integr8 Group from August 2011 to October 2012.

Riaan's work experience also includes a role as a Test Analyst at MultiChoice, where they gained knowledge and training in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in the context of Set-Top Boxes. Riaan worked on the Quality Assurance (QA) team for TVOD and PVOD, specifically for SD Personal Video Recorders (SDPVR) and 4 tuner Pace High Definition Personal Video Recorders (HDPVR). Riaan'stenure at MultiChoice was from January 2009 to July 2011.

In 2008, Riaan briefly served as an HR Facilitator at PFour.

Riaan Theron attended St Peter's preparatory school, although the start and end years are unknown. Riaan then went on to study at St Albans College Pretoria from 1996 to 1998. In 2001, Riaan enrolled at Rhodes University and completed their Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Psychology from 2001 to 2003. Riaan also obtained a Certificate in Organizational Development & Management of Change from Rhodes University between 2002 and 2003. Finally, Riaan pursued their studies further by completing a Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours degree in Psychology at Rhodes University from 2004 to 2005.
