Dave Wine

Dave Wine's work experience spans over several decades and includes roles in various companies.

Dave began their career in engineering as a Design Engineer at Sundstrand Data Control from 1989 to 1991. Dave then joined the Peace Corps as a PCV-Uganda from June 1991 to December 1991.

In 1992, they became a Sr. Design Engineer at Allied Signal (now Honeywell), where they specialized in mechanical design and testing of inertial MEMS accelerometers until September 1997.

From 1997 to 2001, Dave worked as a Sr. Research Engineer at Microvision, focusing on mechanical and system design of MEMS scanners.

In 2001, they briefly served as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Ahaza Systems before joining Combimatrix Corporation as a Sr. Engineer from October 2001 to May 2003.

From 2003 to 2008, they worked at Neah Power Systems, initially as a Principal Engineer, where they conducted modeling and testing of fuel cell systems, and later as the Director of Cell & Stack Development, overseeing the development of silicon-based electrodes.

In 2008, they joined Intellectual Ventures and held various roles, including Sr. Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Program Architect, Director of Engineering, Director of Corporate Development, and Director of the Deep Science Fund. In these positions, they worked on IP portfolio acquisition, developed business programs, managed projects, collaborated with external partners, and played a key role in the development of spinout companies and products.

Throughout their career, Dave Wine has demonstrated expertise in technical, financial, and business strategy development, as well as a strong background in managing teams and evaluating patents and technologies.

Dave Wine holds a variety of degrees and certifications in the field of data science and engineering. Dave obtained a Certificate in Data Science from the University of Washington in 2017. Prior to this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics from the same university, completing it in 2006. Dave'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Washington, obtained between 1984 and 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Dave Wine has also acquired several professional certifications. Dave completed a series of Coursera courses, which include "Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python," "Python for Everybody Specialization," "Using Databases with Python," "Using Python to Access Web Data," "Python Data Structures," and "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)." These certificates were obtained in 2016. Dave also holds a Professional Engineer certification in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermo & Fluids, granted by the State of Washington.
