Ben Pellegrini has a diverse work experience in various roles. Ben started working as an Oracle DBA at Mott MacDonald in 2002, where they were responsible for backup, recovery, performance tuning, and implementing new features. Ben also introduced over 150 stored procedures and developed company guidelines for Oracle procedures. From 2007 to 2009, Ben worked as an Oracle DBA at PPD, managing multiple databases for corporate and clinical systems and providing guidance and training to junior DBAs and development teams.
In 2010, they joined CambridgeIP as the CTO, where they worked as an architect, developer, tester, system administrator, and customer support for multiple software tools. Ben handled key features such as document storage, indexing, OCR, user management, web services, data ingestion, search strategies, and AWS infrastructure. Ben identified issues in the architecture, implemented cost-saving measures, and introduced agile development processes. Ben also mentored junior team members and managed external contractors. Ben developed an API to open up the data as a REST-based service and had a strong understanding of open data sources.
From 2009 to 2017, Ben worked as a Freelance web, data, and integration specialist at Red Katipo, where they showcased a portfolio of recent work. Ben then joined the Eastern Cancer Registry and Information Centre in 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer, working on a data upload portal for clinical data relating to radiotherapy treatments. Ben'sresponsibilities included encryption of uploaded data, data validation, API interface for data transfer, front-end development, and extraction of key business logic.
Currently, Ben is the Chief Executive Officer at Intellegens, a role they began in 2017.
Ben Pellegrini attended The University of Sheffield from 1993 to 1996, where they earned a BEng degree in Control and Systems Engineering.
