Dave Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Dave started their career as a Trainee Management Accountant at St Ivel, where they developed systems to automate data collation and verification for monthly management accounts. Dave then moved to St Merryn Food Group, initially as a Management Information Developer, responsible for creating a data warehouse and web dashboard for producing management reports. Dave also had a significant role in setting up the company's IT and software in Portugal as an IT Manager and Access Developer.

Dave later joined Mediatrack as a Senior Developer and IT Manager, where they led the development team in creating SQL Server/Access/VB6/VB.net solutions for data analysis and visualisation. Dave then started their own company, Engine House Solutions, which they managed for nine years.

In 2010, Dave became a Director at Three Cherries Ltd, where they managed outsourced development projects, produced proposals, and provided technical support. Dave also had hands-on development involvement, particularly in Management Information and ETL projects.

Dave's most recent role was at NatWest Group, where they served as a Senior SQL Developer. Dave was responsible for ongoing development and support of SQL Server-based databases and tools, specifically related to the redress and remediation of mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI). Dave worked closely with business analysts to determine requirements and produced functional specifications.

Currently, Dave works as a Software Developer at Intellica Ltd, starting in 2023.

Dave Simpson attended De Montfort University from 1993 to 1994, where they studied Mathematics. Prior to that, they attended The Cornwall College Group from 1989 to 1991 and obtained their A levels. In terms of additional certifications, Dave obtained the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals from Microsoft in January 2023, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in December 2022, Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in September 2015, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate from Microsoft in February 2023.
