Mark Nicholls

Mark Nicholls has a diverse work experience in the field of web development. Mark started their career as a Freelance Web Developer in 2019, where they built and collaborated on dynamic sites using the MERN stack. Mark also worked with Python, PHP, Razor, SQL, and React on various full-stack projects.

In 2020, Mark worked as a Student at UWS, and in 2021, they joined OpenWeather as a Frontend Developer. There, they worked on the user account section of their Agro Dashboard and updated their Marketplace by building stateless components in React.

From 2022 to 2022, Mark worked as a Junior React Developer at FSB, where they helped build an app for the African market and refactored their React codebase. However, they had to leave FSB earlier than planned due to the closure of the Glasgow office.

In 2023, Mark worked as a Web Developer on a short-term contract at Spectre Creative. Mark helped fix issues on a large-scale site for a wine retailer built with Next.js, Strapi CMS, and BigCommerce. Mark gained valuable experience in writing manageable and dynamic components in Typescript and integrating the site with third-party GraphQL APIs.

Currently, Mark is working as a Junior React Developer at Intellica Ltd, starting in 2023.

Mark Nicholls attended The University of Edinburgh from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature (British and Commonwealth). Mark then went on to study at Edinburgh Napier University from 2009 to 2011, earning a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing.
