Subir Bhattacharjee has held a variety of roles in the water industry since 1996. Subir began their career as a Post Doctoral Fellow and Lecturer at UCLA in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, teaching graduate courses in Membrane Separations for Aquatic Systems and Colloidal Phenomena in Aquatic Systems. In 1998, they moved to Yale University as an Associate Research Scientist. In 2001, they joined the University of Alberta as a Professor, where they held the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Water Quality Management for Oil Sands Extraction from 2010 to 2013, and the Canada Research Chair in Colloids and Complex Fluids from 2001 to 2011. Subir also taught Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Energy Conversion, and Colloidal Hydrodynamics. In 2013, they became the CTO and co-Founder of Water Planet, Inc. Most recently, in 2017, they became the Founder and CEO of IntelliFlux Controls, developing and marketing artificial intelligence and machine learning powered expert control systems for autonomous control and optimization of water treatment plants.
