Stergios Papadakis

Stergios Papadakis is a Program Manager at IARPA since April 2024. Prior to this role, Stergios served as Chief Scientist at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory from May 2004 to April 2024, overseeing the Experimental and Computational Physics Group and developing research strategies for a team of approximately 50 scientists and engineers in diverse fields such as quantum computing and electromagnetic propagation. Stergios managed projects with budgets up to $20 million, led teams of up to 60 people, and acted as Chief Technologist for the Space Exploration Sector, contributing to technology roadmapping for crucial spaceflight missions. Previously, Stergios was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2000 to 2004, following a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a BSE in Aerospace Engineering, both obtained from Princeton University.
