Amila Rathnayake

Amila Rathnayake has a strong background in software testing and quality assurance. They started their career as a Software QA Engineer at GMI in 2006, where they worked until 2008. They then joined Lightspeed Research as a Senior Software QA Engineer, where they gained extensive experience in various testing methodologies, including functional testing, non-functional testing, test automation, mobile testing, and API web services testing. Amila also had involvement in the complete software development life cycle, from requirement analysis to test execution and bug life cycle management. In 2011, they were promoted to the role of Software QA Lead at Lightspeed Research, where they continued to enhance their skills and contributed to the development of behavioural driven development feature files. In 2018, Amila joined the Department of Justice and Regulation in Victoria, Australia, as a UAT Test Analyst. They worked there for a short period before joining IntelligenceBank in the same year as a QA Manager. Over time, they progressed within the company and currently hold the position of Senior QA Manager.

Amila Rathnayake obtained a Master's Degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Colombo, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Technology from SLIIT, where they studied from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Amila Rathnayake has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Amila received the CTFL - Certified Tester (Foundation Level) certification from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in March 2018. In September 2016, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. In September 2011, they earned the Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certification from QAI Global Institute. Most recently, in August 2021, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from Scrum Alliance.
