Csaba Hornyik

Senior Plant Scientist at Intelligent Growth Solutions

Csaba Hornyik has extensive work experience in the field of plant science and research. Csaba is currently working as a Senior Plant Scientist at Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) since January 2023, where they previously held the position of Plant Scientist from April 2020 to December 2022. Prior to joining IGS, they worked as a Research Scientist at The James Hutton Institute from December 2005 to March 2020. Csaba also served as an Honorary lecturer at the University of Dundee from 2015 to 2020 and as an Editor at the Open Life Sciences journal from 2006 to 2020. Csaba started their career as a Research Assistant at the Agricultural Biotechnology Center from September 1998 to November 2005.

Csaba Hornyik pursued their education in a systematic and diverse manner. In 1992, they enrolled at Eötvös Loránd University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology in 1997. Demonstrating a strong passion for the sciences, Hornyik continued their academic journey at the same university, undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biology, specifically focusing on Plant Biotechnology. This pursuit lasted from 2000 to 2005, further enhancing their expertise in this field.

In 2018, seeking professional development, Hornyik attended UHI, where they completed a CMI SCQF Level 6 Diploma in First Line Management the following year.
