Carmen Macias

Director of Project Management, Group Product Manager at Intellis

Carmen Macias has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Carmen started their career as a Senior Application Programmer at Parsons Brinckerhoff in the USA (now WSP USA) in 1992. In this role, Carmen served as a Technical Lead, supporting critical internal programs and being the principal resource for the Oracle Human Resource module. Carmen also assisted in analysis and reporting in modules such as Project Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.

In 1998, Carmen joined ACM, Association for Computing Machinery, as a Database Developer. Here, they played a key role in the development of an Internet e-commerce site. Carmen worked closely with stakeholders, senior management, marketing, graphics, business analysts, and developers to customize the tool according to business rules and requirements.

Moving on, Carmen worked at Disney Publishing Worldwide in 1999 as a Senior Programmer. Carmen interfaced with internal stakeholders and collaborated with product owners to understand and refine complex business problems. Carmen's responsibilities included gathering business requirements, designing and implementing reports, and providing support and testing during Y2K.

Since 2000, Carmen has been with Intellis, initially as a Product Manager, Project Manager, and Team Lead before assuming the position of Director of Project Management and Group Product Manager. Being a member of the executive team, Carmen is responsible for company, product, and key project strategic planning. Carmen sets and meets company SMART goals, allocates resources, and manages billing projections. Carmen closely collaborates with the VP of Strategy and Operations and the CEO in developing and advancing company products.

Carmen Macias holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Queens College. Carmen also obtained a certificate in Computer Software Engineering from NYU School of Professional Studies. In addition, they have completed additional certifications including "Digital Product Management: Modern Fundamentals" from the University of Virginia on Coursera, obtained in April 2019, and "Executive Data Science Specialization" from Coursera, obtained in November 2018.
