Steve Schmidt

Steve Schmidt has over 30 years of experience in the industrial and mining industries. Steve began their career in 1990 as a Control Metallurgist and Process Metallurgist for Glencore at Mount Isa Mines. In 1992, they moved to Queensland Nickel as a Production Supervisor, Process Engineer, and Environmental Engineer. In 1995, they joined Southern Water as a Wastewater Treatment and Thermodynamics Engineer for McDowells Engineering. In 1996, they worked as a Process Engineer for Combustion & Chemical Engineering. In 1997, they began working for Downer EDI Ltd as a Senior Business Development Engineer for Clyde Carruthers, and for Glencore Technology as a Global Business & Technology Development Manager, Australasian Manager, African Manager, and Senior Process Engineer for the Mineral Processing Global Business Area. In 2015, they moved to Outotec as the Head of Products and Commercial Product Manager for the Mineral Processing Global Business Area. Most recently, in 2020, they joined IntelliSense.io as the Chief Product Officer, where they are leading the industrial AI company to make better and reliable decisions through the use of trusted and open AI solutions.

Steve Schmidt attended the University of Adelaide from 1986 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical Engineering.
