Claire Barnes

Director Clinical Research at Intelon Optics

Claire Barnes has worked in the medical and research field since 1995. Claire began their career as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Loyola University Medical Center, followed by a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Chicago in 1997. From 1999 to 2002, they served as an Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Claire then worked as a Health Sciences Specialist at both the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System from 2002 to 2010. In 2012, they became a Consultant at QLT Inc., where they performed ongoing review of efficacy-endpoint data, assisted with editing of Clinical Study Reports, and wrote reports for Clinical Study Reports on electroretinogram recordings, colour-vision testing, and full-field stimulus testing data. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as an Editor at Edanz Group Ltd. Claire is currently employed as the Director of Clinical Research at Intelon Optics.

Claire Barnes attended Dundas District High School from 1977 to 1982, where they completed their high school education. Claire then went on to McMaster University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Theoretical Physics & Applied Math between 1982 and 1986. After this, they attended the University of Toronto and received a Master's Degree in Human Visual Psychophysics from 1986 to 1988. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Visual Psychophysics at the University of Toronto from 1988 to 1995.
