Alicia Nance, PhD, is an accomplished educator and advocate specializing in racial equity in education. As the Founder and Lead Equity Officer at alicia Who Learns since January 2014, Alicia promotes a pro-liberation, abolitionist approach to transformative justice. In addition to this role, Alicia serves as a speaker with the Black Speakers Collection and as an affiliate and trainer with the Interaction Institute for Social Change. Since 2015, Alicia has been actively involved as a trainer and consultant for the Center for Racial Justice in Education, focusing on professional development for K-12 educators. Previous roles include Senior Partner at Transforming Education, Inc., and Founding School Leader at KIPP San Antonio Public Schools. Alicia holds multiple advanced degrees from Louisiana State University, Georgetown University, The George Washington University, and the University of Mary Washington, with expertise in curriculum theory and Africana studies.
