George Erhart has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. George currently holds the position of Director of Engineering at Interactive Northwest, Inc. George joined the company in June 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Consulting Software Engineer at Avaya from 2001 to 2023. In this role, they were involved in evaluating speech and NLU offerings for contact centers and collaborating with product teams to incorporate required capabilities into their roadmaps.
George Erhart also served as a Board Member at VoiceXML Forum, IEEE-ISTO from 2021 to 2022, where they focused on winding down the VoiceXML forum conformance program, managing the research grant program, and editing press releases. Furthermore, they were the Treasurer/Co-founder of Loveland CreatorSpace, a non-profit Makerspace/Hackerspace/Creatorspace initiative based in Loveland, Colorado. During their tenure from 2013 to 2015, they established financial systems for the organization.
Prior to these roles, George Erhart worked at AT&T/Lucent as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff from 1984 to 2000. In this capacity, they contributed to the development and integration of large vocabulary speech recognition, client/server speech recognition, and speaker trainable name dialing technologies into the Conversant IVR product. George'swork on speaker trainable name dialing was deployed by AT&T as VoiceLine.
George Erhart holds a Master of Science (MS) in Computing and Information Science from Case Western Reserve University. George also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communications from Ohio University. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in "Learning Kubernetes" from LinkedIn in April 2023.
