Matthew McHenry has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and publishing industries. Matthew began their career as a Certified Barista at Starbucks Coffee Company from 2006 to 2010. Matthew then worked as an Editorial Intern at Fairchild Media in 2005, where they gained experience in compiling reader reports, online market research, and photo research.
In 2007, McHenry became an Author at Arcadia Publishing, where they independently contracted as a book author and was responsible for research, writing, editing, and promotion of the book "Images of America: Galloway Township." Matthew continued this role until 2012. During the same year, they also worked as an Editorial Intern at Skyhorse Publishing, where they performed general office work, line editing, reader reports, online market research, and copywriting.
In 2011, McHenry joined Ferring Pharmaceuticals as a Legal Coordinator, managing contract-related tasks and invoicing. Matthew later became a Legal Consultant, where they assisted in contract management, legal writing, editing, and research. Matthew also maintained the Gustavo contract management system and handled authorized Legal-related invoices.
McHenry joined Advanced Health Media in 2011 as a Researcher for various pharmaceutical research projects. Matthew worked on an ADHD-related project from November to December 2010 and was rehired in March 2011. In 2015, McHenry joined Turing Pharmaceuticals AG as a Paralegal for a brief period.
Since 2015, Matthew McHenry has been working at Intercept Pharmaceuticals. Matthew started as a Contracts Administrator, responsible for contract administration, budget management, and purchase order management for the US Commercial team. Later, they became a Contracts Coordinator, handling contracts for the company's US commercial and strategic marketing. Currently, they hold the position of Contracts Associate, overseeing contracts related to US commercial and strategic marketing.
Matthew McHenry completed a Paralegal Certificate program at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended York College of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a degree in English with a focus on Professional Writing. Before their college education, Matthew graduated from Hanover Park High School between 1998 and 2001.
